Retaining and Seat Walls
A retaining wall holds back soil and water. A seat wall gives a patio an edge and somewhere to sit. They look similar and they are built differently, so the first thing we do is work out which one you actually need.
Retaining walls
A wall holding back ground has to deal with water first. Drainage behind the wall, the right base under it, and block set so the load runs where it should. Without that, the wall moves, and a wall that has started to move does not go back.
Seat walls and fire pit surrounds
A seat wall is built to a height you can actually sit on, with a cap wide enough to be comfortable. It gives a patio a boundary without a fence, and it is the natural place to wrap a fire pit or a grill.
Tying into the hardscape
Walls look right when they share a material or a cap with the surface they sit on. We plan that together rather than picking block and paver separately.

On-site estimate
We come to you, measure, look at what is there now, and find out where the water goes. You get a written estimate that lists the material, the work, and what is not included.
Installation
Removal and haul-off, excavation to stable ground, a compacted base, then the bedding layer and the paver. Edge restraint on the open edges, polymeric sand in the joints, and the site cleaned down at the end.
Sealing and care
Cleaning, re-sanding the joints, and sealing when the surface is ready for it. This is the part that decides whether you are maintaining a deck in a few years or rebuilding one.
